Re: subie 2.2 timing covers

Thanks Brad and Burto. looked at both options and new are about 30% dearer then secondhand. Add freight from the wreckers and the prices are just about the same. That's in my case as I'm a little remote. So new would get the nob unless and can scam a trip going past my Subaru wreckers on the coast.....

I can get some from the wreckers, that are shabby and cost as much as the motor again.... Will also need a cam sprocket for passe...

Re: Adr no for Qld paperwork

Thanks Vduboy. All help appreciated. Cause we are a little remote here up north, Ive had no luck so far finding an Engineer, so I thought I would get the paper work started. I'm a bit embarrassed not to have the original plate handy, I'm currently looking through photo's to see if I have one that wi...

Adr no for Qld paperwork

Hi all. I'm filling in the vehicle mod application paperwork for Qld to build the new toy. There is a question asking for ADR's no's on compliance plate. this has been a long build so far and I've only just started. The compliance plate I fear has gone to the tip with all the rusty bits, in a hasty ...

Re: Meyers Manx Crate - What is the box ?

HI Guys reading this with interest. Some silly questions. Does this mean a RHD dash is easily available, and other RHD items. How do we go for roll cage, is that to be still made local, or available if required. Can we get it made in the usa to meat ADR's etc I assume you have though of all these th...

Re: Subaru brakes ?

Hi Guys. Revisiting the brakes again on the buggy build. I have seen there are "blank hubs" with splines for the rear of the vw available from "volks conversions" . they seem like a good idea, as you can then bolt any disc (of the bolt pattern you choose} straight on. and caliper...

Re: chassis dimensions please

Hi Smiley. Did some net surfing on the subject and came up with 2 deg caster for the beam, coupled with approx. 2 deg for the axle assembly between the ball joints. so total approx. 4 deg. close to your 5 ish deg. One web page had a European repair manual showing a special jig for the job. that show...

Re: chassis dimensions please

Thanks Smiley.
That seems to be they way I'm heading. will refer to the "manual" on caster angle, and calculate from there, if I don't get some measurements from those with higher knowledge n experience. but not tonight as it's cold out there...

Re: chassis dimensions please

Thanks bajabone. I had attached the beam to the front as a guide, and at a guess ('The project' is out back in the dark now) it would have approx. 10-15mm space to make it 90 deg. I have just attached it with a g clamp for now to get it right first. So will check it out in the morning... May get som...
