Re: buggy rego

My rego (in WA) has BCHBGY on the rego.

By the sound of it your rego is for a beach buggy because a Beetle weight is around 840kg.

Re: FS - NSW 4 seater buggy

I don't think anyone is going to spend over $16K on a buggy that doesn't have a screen. The barwork and back seat lets it down. I think the owner should sort that out before putting it on the market. He would have a much better chance then. How do you get a 1983cc engine anyway? A 94 x 69 is 1915, a...

Re: Looking at starting a Buggy Build!

I like the Tri-Mil Sidewinder exhaust for a buggy. That's probably what I will get for my new motor.

Are you planning on stocking any of those Brad?

Re: Taipan

Is that a Hurst or Empi gear shifter? Hurst shifters are quite rare these days.

The body looks custom made to me. The back looks a bit like a Manta.

I would salvage what you could from that pan and start again with another pan.

Interesting project. 8)

Re: Noise in driveline

The beetle axles need to be machined down to take the Kombi CV's. I assume that this has been done?

Re: 36 IDF Webers

What type of manifolds do you run with your 36IDF's . I was told a standard 40/44 IDF type will not fit the 36's, Is that true ? Thanks for posting the link its a good read. They do fit. That is what I have. The carbs came off an old Alfa so the top of the carby had to be drilled and tapped to moun...

Re: 36 IDF Webers

They are twin carbs. I don't rev it over 5000 rpm but it would easily pull more revs than that. I reckon it has a bit more acceleration than the twin 40's on my mate's 1641. I might be selling them soon if anyone is interested. I'm going for a 2332 and I don't think they will be enough for that. If ...

Re: Tidy manx for sale in WA

I have seen this buggy before at one of the DOVW's. I don't think he bought the body off Moose but it could well be out of the same mould as John at the Vee Dub Centre was selling them too. The buggy looks really nice in the flesh also.
