Re: Manx SR for sale. Where am I going wrong?

Your largest market for the SR is on the East Coast and overseas. I would think if you could get a USA or European resident interested then you may be able to get close to your asking price, if they understand and respect the history. My opinion in your original for sale post still stands - the aski...

Re: Low compression Subi motor

Bloody sneaky having the guide on the bench.
Just email that Subaru spare parts place with what you need and they'll put it all together for you and a quote.
There's a contact section on their website.

Re: Meyers Manx SR for sale

Why not $45k? I have to start the negotiations somewhere. As far as I can ascertain it's the only registered SR on the world market. Simple supply and demand pricing. What is supply? One. What is demand? Who knows? I only need one. Hence the price. Sure, why not. I saw a couple of examples of these...

Re: Low compression Subi motor

Can't see the guide in your photos but yes...that is great news. Subaru....unbreakable....almost. Best make sure that hole is sealed up so no nasties can get in to your cam belt area. Bugger you pulled the engine out first.

Re: Low compression Subi motor

Mark your donor motor must have been out of an automatic Subaru as it is not fitted with the timing belt guide above the crankshaft pulley. Manual Subarus are fitted with this guide to prevent exactly this issue.

Re: Who is Building What and Where??

Wow, so nice to have a couple of Subarugears conversions posted and such positive comments. I am building (well Paul at Down South Motorsports is building for me) my SWB Manx. It seems like it's been being built for an eternity because I just keep coming up with more difficult stuff for it. EJ25 tur...

Re: Subarugears drive across the USA in the DSBE Manxter

The final day, driving from Salinas, CA to Valley Center, CA to bring her home. I left at 4am in the morning in order to try and get around the LA traffic when I passed through there. The LED headlights on the DBSE are awesome, bright and clear with no glare. Headlights.jpg Sort of worked...only got...

Re: Subarugears drive across the USA in the DSBE Manxter

Day fourteen, a beautiful day travelling down California and into one of my favourite cities - San Francisco. I visited over 10 years ago and loved it. It's still every bit as awesome. The buggies decided we would take over the Golden Gate bridge for a photo opportunity. As luck would have it we als...

Now we drive back into California, from the top down. California.jpg Stayed at Mt Shasta which has a beautiful mountain up the side and looks to be a ski resort in the winter. The place we stayed was really nicely fitted out with lots of wood carvings, wood furniture etc. Here I'm enjoying a "t...

Through Idaho, Washington and into Oregon today. We were lucky enough to do the 99 miles of S curves...another one of the great drives of the world. The countryside is just so beautiful. River flowing along a winding mountain road, in the buggy you can SMELL when you enter a pine forest and SMELL th...

Re: Subarugears drive across the USA in the DSBE Manxter

The next day we trekked across North Dakota to Montana, staying in a town called Glendive. Our group leader, Vincent showed me the tape on his fuel gauge...he had a guide to show when our buggy with the smallest tank would run out. Then at the other end of the scale is the DBSE with it's 500 mile pl...
