Re: Whoo just got a buggy!

You call that a Buggy ? (or knife) Take a look at a real Buggy, won't need MaxTrax for this one ?

Re: Moving to Qld - need some local advice

Be happy to show you around some of the Hinterland bush tracks, legal and illegal ones. That's if you don't mind travelling with a "heathen" in a Jeep Wrangler. Also, you will enjoy Moreton and Stradie..I've done them too often. Give me a ring on :- 0419 718 600 after you settle in. I live...

Re: Houdini the Baja Bus

5Rocks 021.JPG Hi Smiley. There is a step hill going to 5 rocks, off to the right, after Big Sandy. Have you made this up in your Buggy or Kombi ? Big Sandy was OK and all the Beach accesses, but I was reluctant to go up this in my Jeep Wrangler. If I only made it part way up, am a shithouse revers...

Re: Moving to Qld - need some local advice

Your best bet is to check :- realestate.com. You describe :- Location, Type, Buy or rent, Facilities etc. Its unlikely you will get NBN on acreage, any time soon. I know Caloundra area has NBN as I have just bought there, via :- realestate.com. You may need to rent for some time, while searching ? B...

Showing the flag in USA

Just got back from a 9,500 mile tour of USA by hire car. Could not rent a Wrangler or Beach Buggy. Started in LAX, headed N-E to Canada at Saul St Marie, then turned left towards Calgary, and back to LAX via Rockies and coast. Will have full report on my website in due course. Most of the high mount...

Re: Fastest Buggy Around .....

Hey Guys, lighten up ! I was curious how much that Buggy Brad was building cost, looking at the quality of build. When I built my Buggy, 8+ years ago, the kit + EJ22+ wiring + several gearboxes cost $40k ++ (stopped counting) I was keen on Buggies until I had problems getting in and out or even doin...

Re: Fastest Buggy Around .....

I wouldn't knock the Jeep Wranglers too much, when you see what they do in the club runs. Try and post 2 photos below. However, my Buggy replacement, a Jeep Wrangler 2dr has not had it's top off, and most of the time I have the AC on. Bear in mind I am now 73, with lots of aches and pains. Anyway, 2...

Re: Fastest Buggy Around .....

What is the cost of this great machine ?
I reckon you could buy a Jeep Rubicon for less than this price ?
My ordinary Wrangler 2dr sport only cost AUD $38k
This buggy would have to approach over $50k ?

Re: Game On .. Aussies to take on Norra Mexican 1000

Thought you guys were also doing the RUBICON trail this year ? With the buggies you have built,
even with only 2 WD, you might even make it. Anyway, all the best in Mehico, give them hell.
Is Rubicon on. after you have won in Mehico ? Cheers, Parj the Jeep

Re: Speedo sensor

Try using a cheap Sat Nav, about $100 or less. Doesn't need any
sensors, cables etc. I use a Garmin Nuvi 50 if I remember right.
Also has a odometer.

Re: Anyone been out & about?

Parj did a trip down to Stockton dunes and Thredbo fire trails, in his new Buggy substitute (shock horror !) the Jeep Wrangler. The Dunes area of Stockton had been closed, so only the beach was open. Jeep went well. Then down at Thredbo, I wanted to do the Mt Pinnibar track, but bugger me, the cross...

Re: Anyone been out & about?

Yo Tratty, replaced Buggy and Pathfinder with Jeep. Will be doing Cape York in May 2015 and Sim Desewrt later, depending on our OS travel plans. The Boss is happier Jeeping in airconditioned, rainproof comfort. I seem to recall a green Buggy needing HELP in the desert ! On one opccasion, I had to to...

Re: Anyone been out & about?

Parj might come along in the Jeep, to make sure you guys don't get stuck in
the sand. What time are you at the Ferry ?
Cheers, Parj
