Re: Nate's Manxter Build

I had to basically remake the headers, I should have done that from the start as they were appallingly bad. If a gumby like me can do nicer welds then you should re think your business model... Pretty pleased with how they turned out, would have been nicer if they were purged on the inside bu...

Re: Mechanical to electronic speedo

Vdo makes an adaptor to go from the standard vw cable to a hall effect sensor output like most speedos use.

Re: Nate's Manxter Build

Congrats, well done....it is one of the best feelings getting them registered!! Again! But now that is it for a long time. I don't plan on any mods at all. I just want to use the bloody thing! I thought you might like the smoothness! Lol. What ratio did you end up going with in your box? 4.11 with ...

Re: Nate's Manxter Build

Well I am finally on the road again legally!! After doing battle with the RMS's new 'updated' system for 2 1/2 hours the car is registered and engineered. I have done about 400k's so far love the motor! It is very smooth, it has a awesome note that I am so proud of! The ratios that Todd su...

Re: EJ22 VSS issues I think...

Depending on auto or manual the ECU will look for + or earth, from what I remember + for auto and earth for manual. I have hooked up the neutral to the start signal, so when the motor starts it sees it is in neutral but once started it sees it is in gear. Need a relay to do this for manual. I have ...

Re: EJ22 VSS issues I think...

Well I did a few things while I am waiting for my obd adapter lead to come in, still not sure what else I need to talk to subarus ssm protocol, I changed the input to the vss sensor to 5v, no change. Cleaned the afm, no change but running smoother, added a clutch switch on the neutral line, massive ...

Re: EJ22 VSS issues I think...

I don't know if having 29" tyres and 4.11 diff makes a difference to the output of the vss as well?
Almost done just don't know what to do next..

Re: EJ22 VSS issues I think...

I have trialled and errored all week so far... got me absolutely stumped as to what I have f@#ked up.. shitting me to tears actually! I have doubled checked the new TPS, made a new 6 pronged pick up wheel to make up for the difference in tyre size, fit up a separate npn inducer pick up just for the ...

Re: Wheels & tyre options for s treet buggy

I know John Sherman does all the blanks and can drill and tap them for you, Todd from Subarugears can supply rears in whatever stud pattern you want with his Subabrakes, apart from that not sure bud.

Re: Wheels & tyre options for s treet buggy

Adapters are illegal, I too struggled to find wheels in 4x130, if I did it again I would get new discs/drums in a common pattern like ford Holden or Toyota. You can buy all sorts of electronic speedos that can be adjusted for different tyre sizes so no issues there.

EJ22 VSS issues I think...

So I have got my Subarugears/Ej22 conversion running and driving, the only issue I have is a intermittent code 24 (idle air control valve open or short) I have cleaned the valve and it was spotless, functions perfectly at a cold start. All continuity checks out perfect. The only thing that came up r...
