Josh's 68 Baja Bug

Postby VWNuts » Sun Feb 13, 2011 2:36 am

Well this is the other car I'll be taking to Fraser in October
Its josh's first car, so will be wearing L Plates on Fraser.

It used to belong to Tim (68Baja) but has been sitting around for quite some time, so needs work to get it back on the road.

It runs an 1800 type4 engine
1800 Kombi Gearbox
2 inch lift kit

Hey Graham, is Josh going to be allowed to drive it with that engine once he gets his P's?

Other than that, way cool Baja!!!

I wish my old man had gotten me such an awesome car when I was learning to drive!

Good call Smiley, I guess i might have to confiscate the engine for my Country Buggy and give him a weedy 1500 single port

You might just have to do some research and find out what the go is.

P platers can't drive a vehicle that has an engine modification plate. And I'm not sure if you're meant to have one for a type 4 donk.

You could give him a 1600 twinport because that's the largest factory engine for the vehicle (Volkswagen Beetle) and can be fitted without a mod plate.

Something to look into I guess.

Preparations for the Fraser trip in Ocotober are coming along slowly.......

I'm using the cage from Terry's old Red Baja. I wasnt too keen on the light arrangement

So I've modified the rear cage a little bit.

I'm also looking to mount the spare tyre on the rear

Definatley a good idea to change the cage design around the lights.

Should look good with the spare wheel on it as well.
