I picked up another toy to play with once I've finished the Baja Bug.

This sits in a nice dry spot at the back of my garage. Since there was only less than 900 sold in Australia, these are quite rare. I grabbed one when I could, and happy to store it until I get around to restoring it

There's only one model, they were made in 1968. The philipines made the Sakbayan from kits that were shipped over from Australia. They come up for sale on eBay from time to time, but expect a fair bit of work if you get one

I finally got this together for a street cruiser. We built in in 8 weeks from wreck to Rego in September 2014 to take down to the Revolks camping weekend in Lorne on the Great Ocean Rd in Victoria

Like all Country Buggies, it was rusty and needed extensive repairs

But we made it to Victoria in our 8 week deadline

Even got an article on it in the VW mag

And since then have been enjoying cruising around
