So with the Fraser date getting closser we have had a few wins with the Manxter bodies passing Fibreglass testing, the engineer approving the new roll bar design and the cooling solution all but sorted.
When it comes to cooling as far as I have found the best guys to deal with are ARE. (http://www.are.com.au
). Richard and Drew not only know what they are on about they go that extra mile to ensure that the cooling solution will work and work well. They are not known for being cheap but when you see the way in wich they work it is money well spent. The design spec for the Manxter Radiator was very simple .. I want cooling and plenty of it. For all I know a customer may well use an EJ25T and be slogging it out in Soft Sand at high tide with a camper trailer on the back.
With that in mind we wend with a huge 62mm core with twin 13" Spal fans taking up the entire rear wing area and giving us bout twice the cooling a v* commodore has with much more pull through air. With the radiator being at the back we needed to be sure that the fans would pull enough to make up for a roof etc interupting flow.
The rear wing sits neatly on the rear. It is sold in the USA without any radiator supports or mounting kit. In Australia we will be offering a 3mm Alloy support system with Custom Radiator to make cooling a bolt in solution.
