Postby occy8 » Mon Jan 05, 2009 4:51 am

At the time i was driving the yellow manx seen in a lot of the shots and my partner was driving the type 3 in the background. She was a fred flintstone ( holes in the floor) , had no brakes and went like hell, the perfect resto.....

We scrubbed and scrubbed and scrubbed, then decided what colour we were going to paint her , and pink was not going to stay. My wife has a fetish for blu so it was decided. Then i cut the pan off and started grinding and rust killing ect ect...

Took off old rusted floor pan and welded a brand spanka back on , in the mean time the shell was painted and i was a happy with the result. All the old bits that where on it had been sent away for re chroming .I bent in new brakelines , put new clutch and accelerator cables through the spine.I even bought a new master cylinder and steering box. I got the body lined up and re-enforced the pan to shell connection with box section steel. The pedals all went in and everything was going smoothly. The wiring was my next major concern.

It really came together , all the chrome bits came back , and put on, all we needed now was a engine, wayne penrose in sydney had an answer , one of his engines was sent up , we found some good tinware a friend had stashed and we put it all together .
