I am starting to build another Manx , I just bought a floor pan of a 73 beetle . Can any one tell how far to cut back the strut front end so I can weld a ball joint or king ping front end in.??..

Turned out great! Just make sure you have everything level and square and just tack and double and triple check position. When you say "front" do you mean a beam or framehead? I personally would only go BJ front end!

Cut it inform of the napoleons hat so on the opposite side to the pedals. It is much easier to align and then you can move it fwd 50mm so tyres clear your body on full lock.

BJ front with 181 is the way to go in Australia.

http://www.Steelart.com.au has brand new BJ frameheads and beams in stock. Refurbished 181 arms, spindles and ball joints also are available.
