Mine was a LWB supasports, bought in 1998 and rebuilt over two years. I was 15 at the time. It has several different engine including getting rego with a EA81 subaru, then finsihing witha EJ22. Rolled it once, went offroading lots. Sold it after a manx club trip to fraser where the framehead rusted through and we drove off teh island with ratchet straps holdind it togther

Now resides in tassie

This was my first buggy.

Bought in 1978 it was my daily driver from Capalaba to the City.

Sold it in 1981 and haven't seen it since. It was a Manx with a 1500S (Type 3) engine. Distinguishing points were the Mack truck mudflaps, dual VW Beetle tailights and the front roll bar and cross member (which was an innovation at the time to improve rigidity).

Had to blow the dust off a few stored boxes to find pics, Matties old supersports is my first glassed bodied rego'd buggy, but the first buggy I had (if you call it that) would have been late 70's, me being 13ish & was a Fiat 500 bambino, twin cylinder air cooled- piece of crap but at 13 yrs old thought it was best thing out!

Ended up on tip after took out the side wall of the ol mans woodshed. First VW buggy in about 1980, being in the country none of us kids had any money, but used to ride around the surrounding bush areas & find vehicles the hippies had abandoned, can remember digging a case of spuds from dads garden & swapped it for a complete split screen kombi, ripped out the reduction hub gearbox, grabbed some pipe from old road signs, & with a 1600 toyota motor & some help from dad, built this thing

As rough as guts but had a ball in it,

ended up swapping it for a stroked tt500 bike in mid 80's

I was a lot younger then, drove em like I stole em, and pretty much ran them into the ground, but I did sell the last two. Unfortunately offroad toys and a young family don't go together :(

My brother and I destroyed many bajas in the late 80's and early 90's. Nothing was sacred in the 80's. Pics from Fraser, Moreton and Head Rd.
