Buggy Wheel offsets.. and backspacing..

Postby Vduboy » Wed Mar 05, 2014 7:27 pm

Hi Guys, had my engineer around today to talk seatbelts mounts and what not and the topic of tyre and wheels sizes came up, so he basically said I can run up to 1.3 x the standard wheel width, 165x1.3=215 by whatever height I want, BUT the wheel track must not be over one inch wider than standard. Which would be OK as I quite like the tall skinny tyre look,
So looking around at the wheel options I can't really seem to find anything that specifies keeping the same Offset, as many keep the same Backspacing but this will change my track too much.. :?
Should I just go to my local wheel place armed with a degree and a tape measure and just get some made up?? Cheers for any advice. :)
It will all be ok in the end.. if is not ok its not the end!

Just go with ET 35 in a whatever size x 6" running a 215 x 75 on them and you should be fine. The rear will need a spacer to clear the bump stop but about an inch will do it and they are available on ebay cheap enough.

That is pretty much what I had measured them at. Cheers, I thought I might be able to fit sevens on the back though, going off my rough late night measurements. I am just running the standard beetle 4 stud Ben. Cheers guys!
