You'll also need a selector fork jig to put it back together if you don't want it jumping out of gear.
The VW Transaxle really isn't very DIY friendly

Yeah weddle industries sell the tools you need.

Bit pricy I'll try making my one first.

Yeah , funnily enough I'll be in Perth in 4 weeks I might just give him a call.
A friend might have found me another 002 box , unknown condition at this stage.
I'd live to borrow the tools just to fix this one up also.

I'm in WA right now, but I was realy fortunate to be given a type 2 box in working order.
Plan C is to just put that in and put the other box on the shelf for later.

I'm still very keen to borrow, beg or steal a VW 381/14 pinion nut tool so I can properly preserve the other box before storage.
