Will these Manxter bodies be made in Australia or are they made in the US?

Both ... I have a set of moulds and will be making them local. The first batch will come from the USA. The barwork etc will be made local.

If the dollar stays strong I may bring in another batch but only time will tell.

So in answer to your direct question "These Manxters" will be made in the USA.

I have started uploading the USA Manxter 2 + 2 Info - http://www.meyersmanx.info/

It will give you an idea of exactly what the kit includes and the way in which it is built. You will have to excuse the scribble my 3 year old decided he wanted to draw a buggy .

Awesome read Brad, thnx for posting.

Can the back seat be set back even further? It still seems like not quite enough room for a large adult?

If you were to put a back seat in like the padded set up that some old Manx's like mine have, would that put your head out the back of the roof?

Have you sat in the back of one of these? If so what were your thoughts on leg room??

Cheers

I am 6ft 2" around 189 cm tall and currently a fat ass at around 106kg and I fit in the back of the Manxter and sit below the roll bars etc. I would say I fit fine.

There is always a fine balance between seating and storage, not much point have 4 adults if you can't take a lunch box.

I feel the Manxter has found a happy balance and I am sure once people in Australia start sitting in them they will agree.

Thanks Brad great to know

I am looking forward to eventually seeing one in the flesh!

I will get my old Manx back later this week, and now im thinking I will clean it right up and try to get a good dollar for it. If I do, I will be knocking on your door for sure!!

Finally closer to having my dream car, if only I could keep the old and have the new :)

Is that the right address for the Anna Bay one brad? That's the address for clarky's (a smash repairer) ?
Or has the vw bloke that lives across the road bought him out?

Correct me if I am wrong but Clarky's hasn't been open in many years ..

Yes the VW guy across the road has expanded and moved in there.

I called in there the other week, and got the grand tour. Only just starting up but looks very promising. They got plans to do conversion to some other cool non vw vehicles as well.
