CFAB Subaru 5 Speed Mounting Kit

Postby Brad » Tue Jun 28, 2011 7:12 pm

With Todd from Subarugears.com doing a great job of making the 5 Speed Subaru Transmission an affordable option for use in a rear engined vehicle it seemed only right that we get a bolt in mount kit developed for use in the type 1 floor pan.

Sit back and watch the magic happed as the CFAB Mounting kit is designed, developed, fabricated, packaged and available as a bolt in option .......

Ok so to start with we need a logo ...

Now I had a look around http://subarugears.com/index.htm and it explains how it all works quite well. For the purpose of this article the only bit I really cared about was mounting.

The main part I was interested in was the layout of teh transmission (box) in relation to the VW one.

Todd has also done some work on mounting etc and had a few working proto type setups which now needed to be taken to the production level.

Once home it is unwrapped it and admire the new mods Todd is doing to the box's

This is my favourite part .

And even though once mounted you will hardly see it ... it is always cool to know the end cap is much nicer then his fence post proto type.

Now I have it I will get the pan on the hoist and start to work out the mounting system.
