Iguana for Sale

Postby Lovebuggy » Sat Oct 19, 2013 11:42 am

If you are looking for an absolutely Unique Vehicle that will perform and has that WOW factor, then here is an opportunity for you. With regret I have decided to sell the Iguana Buggy as my time is becoming too limited to finish this dream.

I had begun to build this, prior to becoming Co-Owner in Meyers Manx Australia, which now has my focus towards selling Manxter 2+2 Kits. I also have a fully registered Manxter 2+2 to drive around in.

Add to that a new baby and house renovations and I have just had to accept reality and down size my projects.

The Iguana Buggy is a Full ICV with complete Approval to Build Paperwork as a Road Registered Vehicle. This was planned to be one of the toughest buggies out there. Not only is it going to be tough with its 12 inches of rear travel, Dual rate coil over shocks, widened and lengthened stance, but it also contained all the comforts of a modern car – with Power Steering, Boosted 4 wheel disk brakes, underslung pedals and heater/air con. Designed to take a H6 and Subaru 5 speed gearbox it will drive anywhere. As one of the bigger buggy shapes it provides increased passenger room (Especially in the back) and comfort to accommodate the whole family.

All Fabrication Work undertaken by Custom Offroad and meets engineering specifications. No further Fabrication Work required.
Basically this is 90% complete and it comes with the following

1. Complete - Approval to Build Paper Work so all modifications are 100% legal.
2. Iguana Fibreglass Body, Bonnet and windscreen surround with Certified Test Papers.
3. Front Windscreen
4. Full 6 point Roll cage and side intrusion bars
5. Widened Front Beam with Custom Shock Towers allowing 8 inches of travel
6. 181 front end
7. Custom Alloy Hubs to take Subaru Twin Pot Callipers and 6 stud Land Cruiser pattern
8. Rebuilt Subaru Twin Pot Callipers
9. Front FOX shocks with Remote Reservoir
10. Daewoo Power Rack And Pinion Steering providing less than (2mm of bump steer)
11. Rear Custom 3x2 inch (Custom Off Road made – not cheap Chinese) with type 2 hubs for 930 CV’s.
12. Rebuilt Rear EA brake callipers and disks with hand brake cables fitted
13. Rear 12inch dual rate coil over FOX shocks with remote reservoir
14. Spring plate eliminator kit with covers
15. Subaru 2002 H6 motor with 35K on the clock.
16. Modified Engine Loom with Instrument Cluster
17. Full Custom Stainless Steel Exhaust System
18. Fully Rebuilt Floor Pan with 2mm chequered plate and C Channel Lift Kit. Extended Frame Head.
19. Waterlines plumbed inside the tunnel connecting Engine to Front Mount Subaru Radiator.
20. Easy Access Inspection Covers to Tunnel
21. Underslung Pedal Assembly with fully rebuilt and stainless sleeved Brake Booster
22. Custom Designed 60L Stainless Fuel Tank with inbuilt Subaru Fuel Pump
23. Complete Front Yamaha R1 head lights (Including Spares)
24. Mazda 3 Rear Tail Lights
25. Capacity to Fit A/C unit – Mazda MX5 unit HVAC included.
26. Subaru Steering Column – with full integrated controls
27. Scat Shifter
28. 16 inch Wheels
29. 33 inch Tyres
30. MX5 Seats
31. 930 CV joints and Sway way Axles to suit rear arms
32. Bimbi Top to keep the sun off
33. Plenty of little bits and pieces

All that is required is to basically finish putting it together and present to the engineer.
How much for all this? Well lets say a lot lot less than what I paid to get this far.
$25000
This may seem like a lot of money, but compare the price of a normal buggy build with what you get compared to what you get here, it seems like a no brainer.

Can deliver to anywhere in SE QLD.

Just bumping this to see if there is any interest.

Anyone who knows what it costs to build a buggy could see the value in this as parts alone cost more than this.

And this is no stock buggy, it is as big and tough as they get.

Here's hoping you don't consider this as tyre kicking Ben, but more as a 'bump'..... :)

Had the hots for this since first seeing it, am even more-so drooling over the Iguana now after watching the guys doing the Mexican NORRA thing! Just cant ever see how can make it a reality to get it down here in Tas though  Great looking bit of kit for a project for someone,.....if only! Pud

Hi lovebuggy.

I know exactly how you feel about not being able to sell your Iguana for a half way decent price.

I would love to own it, but I need to control my spending to see me into my dotage.

You have a really excellent vehicle with all the good fruit and no-one wants it.

I'm having the same trouble with my Manx SR. It's not as good as your Iguana, but it's a great little car that goes well and is completely reliable and it's really unique, but I can't even get scammers or tyre kickers to call me.
