Searching for info to purchase a "Spider" buggy

Postby blazersteve » Thu Feb 09, 2012 1:39 am

OK, long shot I know, but I'm trying to track down a "Spider" buggy to buy.

The one attached belonged to my cousin, and she was very tired - sold it when he lived in Broome, WA, 10-12 years ago, before he/our family realised what it was...
We have since found out that it was designed and built by a family friend, Gary Lane who passed away a few years ago.
Gary told us that he built several of them and called them Spider buggies, but kept one for himself. He turned that one into a show car, painted in an orange hue all over. He sold it to a guy that had a few of his other buggies (a collector if you will).

The layout inside incorporated a rear seat with a little cargo shelf behind. Entry was via gullwing doors that could be removed...

If anyone has any info about the whereabouts of one of these or has seen one around. I would be very interested to know.

Gday Steve,

I'm the guy Gary was talking about. He was truly a very brilliant man and well ahead of his time.

I still have the 4 spider buggies including Gary's personal car.

I would be interested in talking to you if you are still interested.
