LWB 4 Seater Buggy

Postby DDWR450F » Sat May 10, 2014 8:14 am

Hi all

It's been years since I've been on here after I sold my GS Limo project back in 2010!
(Wonder where it went........)

So as the title says I'm beginning to look for a
REGISTERED LWB 4 Seater Buggy.

Recently we noticed 2 buggies (white & green) go past our place to the dunes at Belmont.
My wife said, "Why don't you buy a buggy....... a finished one!"

So here I am......

If you know of anybody thinking of selling or has a buggy that is for sale, please send me a pm.

Cheers
Dan

Hi guys

I'm not sure where to post this.....

Yeah I bought the MaxFx built up in Cairns and
now registered in VIC.

I'm now being told it still needs to be fully
engineered here in NSW!

2.5k is what I've been told it will cost me.

I tried to get a blue slip for it as it's still registered
but the place I went to said they didn't recognize
QLD blue plate and it would need to be engineered in NSW.

I'm not a 100% certain on this, but I was under the impression the NCOP would make it easier to do re engineering when transferring rego ?

Nodunes on this forum might be able to recommend an engineer down your way that might be more buggy friendly.

I would shop around before accepting that answer. Plenty of vehicle modifications get done to cars in other states and then get sold into NSW.

Yes you will need a new engineers report that is done by a nsw recognised signatory. Should be an easy thing to get as it has been registered interstate. Mullins in Newcastle have done these before and would be the place to go.

Isn't that just a ludicrous system with the States.... The car is approved in QLD and Vic but needs to be engineered AGAIN for NSW?!?!?

Dan , as we spoke about , you need to challenge them with the same rule as any other state , reciprical registration , which in laymans terms means that if it has been registered in any other state for a period of more than 12 months they CANNOT knock it back
Working at getting my Towdster and the Baja Bus back on the road !!!

Hi Guys

Yeah the rule is a little hard to accept, Monday morning I'm off to see a mechanic
to try to get a blue slip. If this doesn't work I have an appointment to see another Engineer
at Cardiff as I couldn't get hold of Athol Mullin. I spoke with the Lindsay who engineered the buggy
to begin with and he is going to send me a copy of the original Engineers Certificate. (But he is
totally confused as to why it would need to be re done)

Andrew I will give you a call to have a chat about this.

Cheers
Dan
